Dr. Thomas E. Corkish, M.R.E., PhD. has been the pastor of Anchor Baptist Church since 1976.

 Throughout over fifty seven years in the ministry, Dr. Corkish has sought to instill in people a desire to delve into the depths of the Word of God, to study it, master it, apply it, and proclaim it. 

The Word of God takes the front seat at Anchor Baptist Church.  The preaching is designed to be not only interesting, but convicting.  Our approach is that the King James Bible is the preserved Word of God Word for the English speaking world.  We do not correct or project doubt about the accuracy and preservation of our Bible.  It is preached from a literal standpoint and always with the goal of presenting Jesus Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection as being the gospel.  We believe that it is His work at Calvary that gives opportunity to those receiving Him as the Saviour to be saved for all eternity.  We teach grace coupled with God's demand that we must be born-again through repentance and receiving Jesus Christ.  Every ministry is directed toward this focal point; Christ, His Word and He being the foundation and the head of our church.

Anchor Baptist Church has much to offer:  a Sunday School program for all ages, traditional conservative music and worship services, children's clubs, an academy, a Bible college, a bus ministry, nursing home ministries, vacation bible school and camp in the summer, ladies meetings, men's meetings, senior meetings, youth activities and annual missions and bible conferences.
